The concept TVS Akula 310 which was first revealed at the Auto Expo in Delhi, has finally got a launch date. According to India.com, TVS Motors has confirmed that the sleek-looking motorcycle will be launched in India by February or March of 2017.
SG Murali, CFO – TVS Motor shared the news with the media, ““We will launch the first product (from the TVS-BMW tie-up) by February or March 2017”. Indeed this tie up for now includes just one motorcycle and that is the Akula 310 which also shares it underpinnings with the BMW G 310 R.
The Akula will come with a couple of firsts for the TVS brand. It would be the first TVS motorcycle that comes with full fairing and bodywork. It is also expected to be priced higher up in the range of Rs 2 lakhs. Since this is a concept bike that is now heading for production, TVS may sell it under the already existing Apache branding.
The bike is based on the BMW G 310 R and borrows plenty from it thanks to the TVS-BMW tie up. It will be manufactured in TVS’s Hosur plant, which is also being shared by BMW for its BMW G 310 R offering.
