Honda has patented the design for CB400F in India and this bike will be launched in under 12 months. The 400cc segment is heating up as not just Honda but even Bajaj will be introducing the CS400 in the 400cc segment. There is already the KTM Duke 390 that already exists here.
The Honda CB400F will be powered by a 390cc parallel twin cylinder engine that will produce 45bhp of power and 37Nm of maximum torque. This engine will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission and will return a fuel efficiency of about 30-35km/l. Honda will also be looking at getting the CBX range of bikes, which are its off-road bikes. The Honda CB400F will be priced between INR2.4-2.6 lakhs (on-road) and this will make it highly competitive.
Royal Enfield too is getting into the 410cc segment with its Himalayan, but we can expect a bike in this segment at a later stage. So, after the 300cc the 400cc will be another segment that will be soon heating up. Honda and Bajaj are preparing for it. So, this year the focus will be on 300cc as even TVS K03 (Drake) will be launched early 2016.
