CG Automobiles, the authorized distributor of TVS motorbikes for Nepal launched new 2012 Apache Series RTR on August 8. The new bikes with beast themed styling come in 2 variants- 160cc and 180cc. The statement released by the company states, "the new bike has all the excesses eliminated, the curves chiseled to perfection, and with a high performance powertrain the bike looks dynamic, even when stationary".

The new Apache RTR features LED pilot lamps that are activated on ignition, to complement its beast themed styling. The company also claims that the new aerodynamic tank helps reduce engine heat for longer engine life. The new leaner body with aggressively angled seat cowls and muscled engine cowl gives the new RTR a racier feel than its predecessor. Justifying the looks, the RTR 160 is able to reach the speeds upto 118 kmph and the 180cc version reaches up to 124 kmph.

The bike features digital console with new muscled styling and race inspired carbon fiber cues. The new nocturnal comprehensive blue backlit display adds to the design element of the display.

Apache 180 ABS

The Apache 180 ABS is one the best naked bikes from the TVS  stable and has been developed keeping the global racing culture in mind. The bike looks very aggressive due to its sharp design elements and gets LED light with pilot lamps. The tank, engine and tail cowls get aerodynamic race designs and are decked up with a decent amount of decals. The instrument console gets blue backlight along with speedometer and tachometer  and sports a carbon fibre finish.

The Apache 180 ABS is powered by a single cylinder four stroke 177.4cc engine that develops 17.03bhp at 8500rpm and a peak power of 15.5Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and the company claims a top speed of 124kmph. It gets telescopic forks at the front and monotube inverted gas-filled dual shocks at the rear. The bike features a 270mm petal disc with anti-lock-braking (ABS) at the front and a 200mm petal disc with ABS at the rear that delivers excellent braking.  It’s one of the few motorcycles in India whose ABS can be switched off for those who love to perform stunts.
